We'd be remiss if we didn't give a special thanks to Channon of SCKC for her support and encouragement. Our colleague, Jaime Choi has also been a huge technical support and ally. She turned us on to Weebly (our web host), designed our logo, and continues to create clip art with our needs in mind. Hooray for Jaime!
Yup, we managed to get a seat (or three) at this year's Southern California Blogger's Bash. And we couldn't be happier! So I thought I'd give you the quick back story on how this came about...
So as you may (or may not) know, Kinder League debuted last year at SCKC 2014. In a matter of just a few months, we were able to publish the website (this could not have been done without the help of our friend, Jaime of Pen With Paper), get the FB page up, open up business accounts, all while stocking up our TPT store with our products. Needless to say,...it was a crazy busy time for us! The Bloggers Bash that year sold out super fast and we were left at the door. We knew that the Blogger's Bash was where we wanted to be the following year, as presenters. We made this our goal. You see, yours truly had presented at SCKC a few times back in the day (with my pal & mentor Raelene Rodi) when the conference was held in Burbank, run by Lila Klausner. Yes, that was a very long time ago! And things were done much differently back then. Ha,... I still remember hauling in the Kinko boxes that held our products. What I'm trying to get at is that I have witnessed the evolution of teaching and what the blogging community has done for my beloved profession. Cessy (far right character) opened up our eyes to the world of teacher blogs some years back, while the three of us were busy having babies. And once TPT came into the mix,...a whole new dimension was added to our craft. The three of us recognized that what we did at Chandler Learning Academy was special and it too deserved to be shared. Being a part of the on-line teacher community has elevated our profession and has made the three us better teachers by inspiring us on a regular basis.
Yes, the three of us (Cindy, Yisel, Cessy - in that order) make up the Kinder League. Yes, the three of us share equal responsibility for all-things-Kinder-League. We do it all ourselves. And we continue to be full-time teachers, mothers, and wives. So you see, this sisterhood that we have created actually comes in handy and allows us to do what we do.
HERE WE COME TO SAVE THE DAY!!!!
The PK 1 Conference equaled ROAD TRIP for this trio! And you can just imagine what that was like! Kinder League was in stitches most of the way through the farm land. We didn't even feel the five hours it took us to arrive. We quickly set up our booth and were ready to chat it up with some fabulous teachers!
The PK 1 Conference in Santa Clara is where we debuted our Kinder League Math Products. As you may have read on our blog, our school has made the push to utilize Singapore methodologies, and this has inspired us to create more kindergarten-friendly extensions and activities. It was a lot of fun talking "pedagogy" with you all!
We were also very excited to hold TWO giveaways. One was a KL product giveaway at the Kinder League booth. The other was the ready-to-go basket above that Cessy whipped up. This was a lot of fun! The booth raffle winner will be announced this weekend. We apologize for the delay. Needless to say, things have been a bit crazy in our households. Yours truly has yet to unpack. Yikes!!! But you will be happy to learn that EVERYONE'S A WINNER with us!!!!!
No kindergarten conference is complete without an art gallery. And this one was spectacular. It wasn't till the second day that I discovered a whole other wing to it, so I didn't get to snap all the pictures I would have liked. But here are some highlights:
And nowadays, no teacher conference is complete without some superstar sightings! Yes, teachers can be groupies too. This is our favorite part of conferences, chatting it up with the people that teach in kindergarten classrooms! YOLO!
Students first spin to land on a teen number. They fill up the top frame using the red side of the counters. The hope is that students quickly realize that they don't have to keep re-filling that top 10 frame and will eventually just leave it full and only add the counters to the second frame (the number in the ONES place) with the yellow side of the counters. Cindy allows time for this "base 10" concept to solidify by giving the students ample time for exploration.
Feel free to grab the freebie below!

You asked for it and we are happy to provide! Feel free to grab the SmartBoard file above so you can play this fun ten frame game with your students!
Counting and Cardinality: Numbers 1-20 is where we left off right before Winter Break. We were glad that the pacing of our math lessons allowed us to set the foundation for all the heavy-duty stuff that is to come second semester.
Check out our new math products we will be debuting at PK1:
(each cover is linked to TPT)
We used our Winter Break to get ready for some upcoming professional conferences.
Here are some highlights from our preparations:
Wow! I'm tired just remembering it all. But it's a team effort! Hope to see you in Santa Clara in one week!
Now that the festivities have settled down somewhat, it's time to get down to business! And by business I mean that it's time to start thinking about the New Year and setting our goals. And as we all know, the best way to do this is by thinking about our individual self, first. Yes, it's time to make those New Year's resolutions. So here we go!
2014 was good to us. Here are some highlights:
Cindy's New Year's Resolutions For 2015:
1. I vow to be the best me I can be! That includes being the healthiest me because without health you have nothing.
2. Be the best mom, sister, daughter, and friend I can be.
3. Be the best teacher and professional I can be. And TPT is helping me to accomplish this!
Let's do this,....
Gretchen Rubin transformed her outlook in life by making it a point to change the little things that annoyed her. I have a feeling we will need to reference her Essential Seven list more than once throughout the year, to help keep us on track.
Here We Come to Save the Day!
We are three energetic kindergarten teachers who want to share our kinder experience with you!
