We dove into our Treasures Unit 8 with a day of planting on our kindergarten yard! Students enjoyed digging their hands in soil, planting seeds, and beautifying their yard. Some of the things we planted: strawberries, tomatoes, lettuce, potatoes, and pretty flowers. We like to start the unit with a planting-fest because we feel the experience gives students background knowledge on the upcoming lessons. It also helps to preteach vocabulary to our ELD students. Planting early gives students time to observe a growing garden before the school year is over.
Here We Come to Save the Day!
We are three energetic kindergarten teachers who want to share our kinder experience with you!
